Ravens coach Harbaugh on meeting his brother in the SB:

I can't even get my arms around it. My dad said something to me -- my mom's and dad's parents are immigrants, salt-of-the-earth people. They treasure America; it's meant everything to them, being here. I hope people can see what an incredible moment this is for our country. This is America, how hard work can get you to a moment like this. This is the greatness of America.

You wonder when does it get to the point where the natives in NE get restless about not winning the SB in awhile? I mean this year for example everyone penciled them in to go to the SB and win and didn't make it. Don't get me wrong, having respectable RS's and making the playoffs is great and something as a fan you should be proud of, but for how good of a team I keep hearing NE is, you get to the point where the only thing that makes you happy is a SB win.

Pitt football/basketball blogger Chris Dokish tweeted this last night during the second half of Ravens-Pats:

"If the Patriots go on to lose this game, Ben Roethlisberger will have a better playoff record than both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady."

Not as much of a Steelers fan, but upon reading that, I thought it was pretty impressive. Decided to check it out for myself, so thanks to ProFootballReference.com, here's how they stack up in terms of postseason records after last night (this is measured by games started):

Brady - 24 games - 17-7 (.703)
Manning - 20 games - 9-11 (.450)
Roethlisberger - 14 games - 10-4 (.714)

First off, I was kind of surprised to see that Roethlisberger has "only" played in 14 postseason games. For some reason, I expected that number to be higher.

Second, you could probably argue that the sample sizes between Brady and Roethlisberger are significant enough to still give Brady a bit more of an edge as a better proven playoff QB. However, he hasn't been lately. If you backtrack Brady's record to match Roethlisberger's postseason experience (14 games), Brady was 12-2. Over his last ten games, though, Brady is a rather Peyton Manning-like 5-5 in his last 10 playoff games.

If Brady's GP keeps going up and Roethlisbergers are static, that says a bit as well.

I'm no Brady fan, but it is impressive that they can put up all those points this season and make it to the AFC championship, with a collection of average running backs and wide receivers.

It was all I could do to keep from smashing my TV before the game, when they showed Lewis looking skyward in tears and thanking God for this chance.....as if God (if there was one) would actually care about Ray Lewis' football career and his double murder involvement.

God doesn't accept plea bargains as far as I was told.

Interesting to wonder if the guys who were stabbed to death in that Buckhead parking lot looked skyward as their life drained from them.....

If there is a god, he's lining the Ravens up to lose an ironic 52-0 next month.

In Ray's defense, he isn't the one with the cameras and microphones that completely sets that event aside as they glorify him. He isn't the first to cloak himself in God after staring down the barrel of prison - but spare me the reverence for him.

How about painting him as someone who took the plea, buried his buddies and possibly even used his wealth and notoriety to avoid jail.

Yeah, I don't hold it as much against Lewis as I do against the media and Ravens fans. My friend's girlfriend tried pulling the "you have to love Ray" thing. Its a good thing we were out watching the Pens win at the time. I couldn't really be mad.
