What was your first car?

My first car that was unofficially mine was a '77 Dodge Monaco


Car was unofficially given to me in my junior year. It was my aunts, but because of how big it was and how much gas it took, I was the only one that drove it. Car only had 29k on it, but was rusted through the trunk and in one of the quarterpanels. Mine was John Deere green and didn't have a white top to it.

First car that I bought on my own:


1988 Ford Festiva. This car was the complete opposite of the Monaco. Small, uncomfortable seats but could get me from Va Beach to home and 3/4 of the way back on a tank of gas. I

First car, period, was this Kia. I paid 1,000 for it and my parents were awesome enough to pick up the other 2/3. This thing sucked in the winter. The locks would freeze, and when I got the doors open, they wouldn't shut. I'd drive for 15 minutes before the thing thawed out and closed. Climbed in through the trunk a few times. Fun stuff. Squealed like a pig too when I waited too long to get an oil change and fix up the belts.



drove it for 6 years, worked hard and bought this baby in march. "My" first car, I guess.

I was pretty happy with it. $1000 and lasted me through high school and part of college. Then a friend of mine accidentally knocked the shifter into neutral. To fix that, he jammed it into reverse instead of back into drive. Transmission was never the same.

1984 Ford Ranger like this but in green and mag wheels off an old Maverick; I bought it in 1992 for 3 grand.

Unless I had 200 lbs directly over the rear axle, I would fishtail all over the place.

The year was 2004 and I had a 1992 jeep Cherokee. Man that thing was boss in the mud.

1995 Eagle Talon

Suffered a catastrophic engine failure five weeks after getting it in April 2000. Replaced the engine, but couldn't afford to pay the bill and pay the car loan at the same time....... so it basically took me 18 months to get the car out of jail. That was in October 2001. In January 2002, I totaled it in a single-car accident in which I lost control of my car on Sunset Blvd at over 100 mph. (That was fun.)

My mom calculated that in a 20-month period I spent over $15,000 on the car, and I was only able to drive it 119 days.

2003 or 2004 Honda Accord. Was my dad's until I learned how to drive. Put 30-40k miles on it and traded it in 2 years ago for a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta.

My first car was a 1993 Ford Aspire. Got killer gas mileage but I barely drove it. Got it as a grad present from my parents. If the pic below shows up, it looked almost exactly like the one shown, color and everything.



I sold it in 2004 and bought a 1993 (don't know what was special about that year) Audi 90. I freaking LOVED that car. It had around 130K on it when I bought it and was faster than anything I've ever driven since. Great in the winter too, but it was super expensive to maintain. I paid about 3.8K for the car and easily spent 4K fixing things as they broke over the next 3 years. Eventually it developed problems with the radiator which would have been too expensive to fix.

1973 plymouth duster, bought by my mom for 300 bucks. what a piece of ****.

first one i bought was a nissan sentra. it had a leak or something and rain would get into the trunk and the front. i came back to it after 7 months away to find the seats a mold farm, and with a decent sized fish pond in the trunk. that was after it had been towed for expired registration and was sitting in that tow company's lot. they wanted like $1800 to get it out, so i told them to keep the son of a *****.

Parents purchased me a 1989 red Chevy Corsica in 99. I proceeded to sticker that sucker up. Manson, Megadeth, gwar etc. I then pruchased a used 1998 Pontiac grand am on my own until it literally stopped working.

1978 Impala - same color except for the header and fenders which I had to replace when I got it in '87 and never bothered repainting.


But it was soon replaced by a much cooler 1973 Nova Hatchback.
