You can't compare this with the Pens experience. The hardest exercise the pens did was a tougher version of jumping jacks.

Too bad the Pirates didn't make the World Series, we would all end up with free tacos from Taco Bell for life.

First time I've heard the term. I'm interested to hear about this too.

"Hoka Hey" was a Sioux phrase that was most remembered for being yelled by Crazy Horse and other chieftains as they went into battle. Basically, it means that today, you are leaving everything (blood, sweat and tears) on the battlefield

OK...but how does that relate to the Suckos? Was it yelled at the infamous prospect "hell week"?

Sam's Drunk Dog wrote:The difference between the Pirates and the Pens (if you believe Dejan's article) seems to be that the Pirates continued to do military style training after the original training session, and actually had a hell week of activity. Exactly. The Pens seal team drills were nothing like the Pirates. Plus, these are minor league players who are close to broke. At least, if a Pens player gets injured, he probably has a few hundred thousand in the bank. A lot of these guys make nothing and are trying to make it to the big leagues. If they get a career ending injury from one of these seal team drills it's all over for them.

What? Did I ever claim to? I couldn't name one Pirates bench coach. Also, I'm not sure what that article has to do with knowing the Pirates system.

No, i'm pointing out that this is not a matter of memory, but a reference that people wouldn't get if they weren't looking at Pirates specific articles. I wasn't the only one who had no idea what was going on.

Ok...I live between DC and Baltimore...and don't listen to the radio at all anyway. And again...I'm not the only one who was confused by this.

haha idoit takes a lot of flack in the threads i read and usually for saying exactly what i was thinking. smug for no reason? a guy comes in here out of the blue with an attitude against someone that was asking a question and deserved the "doesn't ring a bell at all" comment, imo. i just read 500+ comments between dejan/tim williams/charlie/vlad/wtm etc yesterday and realized i forgot whether it was smith or stark because it's a stupid non-issue in general. i'm just interested by the polarization of the issue and that dejan went on bucsdugout to, well, whyever he went there, it was interesting.

I should have a chance to catch some class A (Sally league) ball this season.
Who should I look out for (on the Bucs)?

Josh Bell should probably be in WV.. Not sure who else will be back, and I can't really remember any draft picks off the top of my head.

Believe I heard pirates fest will be in December at the convention. A younger fc44 met Josh Fogg way back when.

I don't think he'll start there, but I'd be majorly surprised and disappointed if he wasn't there for most of the year.
