Ok so I have my first real date since before my accident. Now, I am honestly nervous since this is pretty big in putting things into my past. So hive mind of LGP, any pointers on avoiding awkward silence and similar issues? It would help ease the tension a bit.

Is no names declaration up for discussion? Would it not hurt Mrs. no name to discover this attitude? I'm not really judging just curious. And you definitely made the correct decision with the sister as that would eventually come to light.

If you do decide to discuss it you risk getting Rylans thread deleted, something we are trying to avoid at this point.

If you feel a silence coming, just take off your shoe and show her the foot. Silence broken...

For serious... My experience was that if you connect there won't be much silence and if there is it won't be awkward. Dates where I had those moments were typically last dates because it wasn't working.

Unless you're boring. Then you're boned... Not in the good way.

Chill. Don't allow yourself to build this up to be the 'big date' you (understandably) feel it to be. No matter how it goes, it's a positive step. Look at it like the first game back after 6 months on IR. You may feel a little rusty, but go give it what you've got. Just get out there and have some fun, and if that doesn't work:

I'm a little lost. New girlfriend and I have got along great. I sent her a text Thursday night asking how her day was no response, text her Friday afternoon no response, called her Saturday night and left a message saying "hey is everything ok call or text me when you can." no response. I haven't herd a word from her. I'm guessing it's over, but I also think its lame she couldn't tell me its over and played the ignore game.

at this point you send a text telling her you don't think its working out and want to break up, that is sure to get a responce.

Sound advice, admit your nervous to her so she might take the first step if the conversation boggs down. Where did you plan on taking her?
