Are You Ready for Some Football - Steelers/Titans

Postby blackjack68 on Thu Oct 11, 2012 3:12 pm

Was away yesterday, just got back a few hours ago to discover my office computer not working.

Back up and running and getting ready for the game.

Short week. Injuries abound with Troy and Woodley out.

Harrison and Mendy still not at 100%

Haven't had time to look, but maybe we'll see Saunders back.

Gonna be a late night!

Here We Go Steelers!

What I want to see most is another great game by Timmons.

Watching Timmons last weekend, that was the most noticeable in-game performance on defense I've seen by a Steeler since Troy used to be a lot more mobile/athletic. It seemed like every play I was just shaking my head in admiration.

I wonder if this screwed up many Fantasy players...

Scoring change
The NFL changed Mendenhall's 13-yard touchdown run against the Eagles to a 13-yard touchdown catch. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a swing pass to Mendenhall that was initially ruled a lateral by game-day statisticians.

Instead of rushing for 81 yards, Mendenhall will be credited with 68. And Roethlisberger threw for 220 yards in the game instead of 207 and needs 287 to surpass Terry Bradshaw as the team's all-time leader in yardage.

Like 9000 teams on ESPN had a loss changed to a win. Someone tweeted it.

NFL's scoring would have been no change in Mendenhall's total points, but would have increased Ben's by 4.52. The league I am in I played the owner that had Ben, but he didn't start him so it was moot - I still won by 34.

Titans 21
Steelers 17

I love how people are saying there is no way they can lose. Hmm... reminds me of Oakland.

The question os are the Steelers ready for some football? They've underachieved in 2 road games against one bad and one mediocre team. This team is capable of losing to anyone and beating anyone.
Give Ben help and he can score with anyone. The defense is a huge question mark. I don't think the problem is as much with the scheme as it is with the players.

article in Wednesday's PG about Roethlisberger http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/spo ... ry-656874/

I was at the steeler game on sunday, very impressed with R Mendenhall. I hope Harrison can get through the entire game with only a few days rest.

I'll be tuning in for the other game tonight too ; Biden v Ryan. :P

not gonna pick a winner, but its gonna be another "let a bad team hang around" road game. i'd feel a lot better if jake locker was playing instead of hasselbeck.
