Syringe/Needle on airplane?

I'm heading to Chicago on Monday to do some experiments at Argonne National Lab. I have looked on TSA's website and can't find any info. Are syringes allowed? I'm guessing no on carry-ons, but what about checked luggage? It will be filled with gallium metal if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out.

I am not sure, but I would suspect you'd be fine checking it. In fact, I'd be pretty confident, given the amount of medication people have to travel with.

Not sure if the metal would cause issues though (scanning). I wouldn't be surprised if you got to your destination and found that all your syringes Argonne.
