Breaking the sound barrier in a free fall doesn't sound like something I'd want to do.

He didn't jump from 120,000 feet, though.

He free fell from 105,000 feet.

That's a pretty big difference.

I don't think a free fall from 120,000 feet should ever be considered lame, no matter how many people did it before you.

Ascent is speeding up again. Was at 800 feet per minute now at 1100 feet.

I said its lame how they aren't giving a little backround information on the few people that did similar stunts

Basically, this guy is pushing the upper bound on free falling distance. Our most advanced high altitude aircraft go to about the hight he will be falling from. Any further up and he would likely be flirting with orbit, and interestingly he will probably feel like he is floating for a few minutes because there is virtually no drag. Then he will be cruising at over 600 mph.

They have talked about Kittinger's feat multiple times on the live feed. Are you complaining just for the sake of it?

I'm pretty sure Kittinger is the old guy they keep showing and they've mentioned that Joe will communicate with Felix prior to the jump.

So is he going to be inside that thing falling? or it like a sky dive freefall? I'm guessing the latter isnt humanly possible :?
