Help me name my puppy

My fiancee and I had gotten a dog at the end of August, but it had extremely bad separation anxiety so we had to give it back. We decided to wait a while as it broke our hearts to have to give the dog back. We also decided that if we were going to get a dog it'd have to be either an older dog that we know is okay by itself or a puppy that we can train from the beginning. We went to the local shelter today and there was a litter of mutts that they're saying is beagle/ shih tzu.

I like Dexter, Toby, and Dante, but I think we're going with Maxwell (Max)
