This team can go deep into the bench. That is a benefit. They have played some of the best teams in the nation to very close games. If Pitt had 1 scorer to take over a game late they would have been a top 10 team.

Yes, IF they had that scorer. The same player they have been looking for about a decade. Until they get a true-blue chip 2/3 that can create offensively by himself off the dribble, this team will continue to grind out 24 win seasons, bore me to death with half their games in the 57-52 range, and generally underwhelm come tourney time. Its no surprise their best team was when Sam Young approximated the player I described in his last year.

Yes, IF they had that scorer. The same player they have been looking for about a decade. A team that can go 10 deep and plays good defense will have a chance with anyone in the nation. That is all I am saying. The 1 player away from a top 10 was just stating the only thing that separates from most teams. If they can stop a star player Pitt could definitely win against anyone.

I love Pitt for the fact that they score in the 50s. Thats what I loved about the Big East from the past decade. I'm afraid of what is going to happen to Pitt in the ACC. I hope they don't adapt to it.
