It seems like Miami has unlimited cap space, they never lose anybody and they bring in Ray Allen, so if Miami wins the championship then Ray Allen will retire then somehow Miami will end up with Nash, Howard, and Garnett next.

Is this how casual NHL fans feel when they watch? I'm so confused. I played basketball in hs and a lot of pick-up games in college, but I can't decipher what the heck is going on in this game at times.

The big three in Miami took a pay cut, relatively speaking, to play together. Thats how they have cap space.

Well there isn't really a normal cap in the NBA.

And it doesn't matter. They have Lebron James and they don't need anyone else.

i watched the last 55 seconds. Only basketball I've watched all year. I don't get it. Seems like the officials wanted a game 7 to happen no matter what.

I just can't take a sport seriously where comiting a foul(or a penalty in real sports) can be viewed as a defensive strategy when losing in a close game. Especially when the foul prevents what would be a layup guaranteed two points. Mind blowing.

College ball is so much better. The NBA is who has the ball last so that star can drain a 3.

I hate the timeout that advances the ball to half court so much. What did you do to make the ball magically appear there and save 3 seconds?

Was that really a foul? He got all ball with his hand. Body? I don't watch enough basketball anymore to really know.

I know you said you only watched the last 55 seconds but I just don't get thoughts like this. If the refs (league) wanted a Game 7 they wouldn't wait till a minute left in an OT game to be like, "Okay, time to fix this bad boy." People ignore that the game was called even the entire first 52 minutes and Miami needed a freaking miracle to even get to overtime. Then when a 50-50 call goes in favor of the Heat everyone cries conspiracy.

And LOL at the comments disregarding all future LeBron-MJ comparisons because LeBron made a few admittedly terrible plays in an elimination game he won in which he had 35 points, a triple double, was the sole reason his team was even in the game and, oh yeah, he had one of the greatest 9 minute stretches of basketball I've ever seen in the 4th quarter. But sure, he sucks because he had a late turnover and air ball that almost cost them. Jordan NEVER made mistakes.

not that I thought a foul should've been called, but the body contact is most assuredly a foul by the letter of the law.

Seems like wade totally sucked the life out of Miami when they put him back in late in the 4th. Lebron was on a tear and the next posession, wade sets up a play for himself to shoot a 20 footer - which he sucks at. I don't think Luke Longley ever screwed with MJs momentum like that.

I was all excited to post all over the internet "Miami finally got 2 in a row", then they screwed it up. I followed the game on my phone and didn't watch a single second of it.

I don't think it's so much that the calls went to Miami. There were a ton of calls/non-calls that favored San Antonio early in the game. The problem is that nobody knows what is or isn't a penalty anymore. That includes refs, players, fans, etc. The final play of the game very easily could have been a foul and Manu could have been to the line for two. My guess is that he at least makes one. He makes two, then the world goes nuts on how the game and the championship ended on a free throw.

I'm not saying the refs were out to screw anybody, but they knew what they were doing.

Miami won the championship when they hit that 3 with 5 seconds left.

Just like when the Rangers had the Cardinals down to 1 strike in the bottom of the 9th in Game 6 and blew it 2 years ago. San Antonio is not winning Game 7 on the road after nearly winning it.

It sucks because I hate Miami.

I guess it's sort of comforting to know that NBA officiating is just as selective, ever-changing and incompetent as the NHL's.

Spurs couldn't generate any good looks at the end. Tony Parker dribbling around for 15 seconds and throwing up a jumper isn't offense.
