Will admit that I never, ever got the allure of Nirvana. I was into the blend of tempo and raw energy that was "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and I did like "Come as You Are", but beyond that I just...never got into them at all.

Ditto Pearl Jam, too. Beyond "Yellow Ledbetter", I can't say I'm much of a fan. Actually, I blame "Vitalogy". OK, not so much the album, but rather I blame the kid on my hall during my freshman year at W&J who got "Vitalogy" the day it came out and played it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. FOR. THE. REST. OF. THE. SCHOOL. YEAR. (Jerk)

the queen hate is shocking to me

I think that a lot of people - me included before my friend sat me down and played some of their music for me, which pretty much blew me away - base that on the several popular songs. But, yeah, very talented band that somehow gets beat down for no apparent reason (to me).

I kinda asked for SONGS that, like, play on the radio all the time and that's why they're popular. But OK. We can go with entire bands.

I remembered another song I can't stomach.

Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn

Not that it's necessarily a bad song, but it's, like, their only big song and the only one they ever play on TV and that somehow made the singer into a celebrity. I don't get it. Song is annoying to me now.

btw, I have no idea how Bon Jovi got big. I think they only have one good song, "Little Runaway". One of my favorite songs and I can honestly listen to it over and over.



Now... You Give Love a Bad Name and Livin' on a Prayer are two songs I always hear everywhere and I think they're both awful. I don't even hear any melody I can hum in those. I'm clueless why people like 'em.

I only get 107.9 here at work and listen to XM radio and sports talk in the car, so I don't really know what the popular songs on mainstream radio are now.

Anyway, for me it's whoever does that one rock song with the bagpipe that plays on top of it, over and over and over again, and it's the same 4 notes. every. time. I've never listened to the whole thing through, but I'm sure I'd staring punching myself in the ears if I were ever forced to do so.
