In honor of this thread, I broke out my 12" vinyl, 1984 extended version of Erotic City. It was 7:24 well spent.

I admit I've thought of Midge Rendell upon seeing MRandall. I've been in this corner of the state too damn long.

Prince's best song is 1999, no doubt.

Prince was the only one to predict, as early as 1982, that the Y2K virus was nothing more than a hoax to panic people. He knew that come two-thousand zero zero, we would be partying happily.

That's a terrific one. I wore out the album cassette when I was in high school.

I remember he was great in "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." I think it was the Concert for George (Harrison).

I like his song for Chaka Khan, "I Feel for You."

"Partyup" and "Baby, I'm a Star" hold special places in the heart o' my youth.

I do have some friends that call me "The Governor"...

But I mean, I may have heard a song or two while flipping through XM, but never really stayed on the channel.

I have a friend who's obsessed with Prince. He played me a lot of stuff one time. Some of it really sucked and I believe the word I used was "cheese". But he also played me some material that kinda blew me away. I didn't expect it. As someone said earlier, with such a large output there has to be some crap, but there is no denying he is so widely respected for a reason. I voted pretty cool mammajamma.

I have to add that he is a very underrated guitar player. I really enjoy listening to him play.

Prince made Sheena Easton Funky.

Heck, Prince made Sinead O'Connor semi funky.

He's a freakin' miracle worker.

Dearly Beloved

We are gathered here today 2 get through this thing called.... life

Electric word, life, it means forever and that's a mighty long time but I'm here 2 tell U

There's something else....

The afterworld.

A world of never-ending happiness, U can always see the sun...

Day...

or night.

So when U call up that shrink in Beverly Hills, U know the one... Dr. Everything-will-be-alright

Instead of asking how much of your time is left, ask him how much of your mind, baby

Because in this life, things are much harder than in the afterworld

In this life....

You're on your own.

And if De-Elevator tries 2 bring U down.....

Go crazy.

Punch a higher floor.
