I hate the news. Of course they put on someone from anon and he says something ridiculous. Great job media.

So basically the defense just blamed everyone in the defendants town and family for the situation, except for defendants.

Think about the football team. God knows that's more important.

Malik's father has made the best statement so far. Taking blame, apologizing, talking about how alcohol can make you do things that will destroy your life.

To say I don't understand statutes and limits regarding minors is an understatement, but that is about 1/5th of what I would hope for given the crap that went down in this case....

I'm confused--he said their sentences should be different, but I didn't heard what Richardson's sentence was.

If they were tried as adults...they'd be going for to prison for a long time. The courts did them a favor in that aspect.

Yup, I agree. I also think that the coach knew about this crap and he should be brought up on charges.

Mays apology was a joke. "Sorry about sending pictures and video." Seriously?

These monsters showed little to no remorse. They're just sorry they got caught.

Precisely. It was pretty clear that they never DREAMED that they'd actually be found delinquent.

I don't understand the sentence though? 1 year for he first guy and 2 years for the second guy? And then a maximum of 21 years? I'm confused.

Does this put them in the sex offenders list now or because they're minors save them from it.

I think the judge says that they have to register as "youth sex offenders," but I'm assuming that once they're adults, that goes away.

So, all in all, if things go right for these guys, they could be off completely free with nothing legal following them by the age of 21 at the latest?

Wow...

1. that's not just THESE guys. that's how the system works, so being mad at them for it is misplaced
2. this became a pretty big national story. So to say nothing will follow them might be true legally, but it's definitely going to follow their reputation.
