Worth the 30 bucks though? He's playing here at the end of the month and I'm on the fence...

I think so. But it also depends on the venue, he played here in a symphony hall so you could sit down and watch it, as opposed to having to stand and not be able to see.

Heartless Bastards at Mr. Small's next Wednesday 1/23.

They are heartless, indeed, coming to town on the night I'll be at the Pens home opener....

Zach deputy next Monday and Tuesday at the Green Parrot in Key West.

The Green Parrot is a 200 seat bar mostly frequented by locals here in Key West. It should be epic.

I haven't seen a live music event in months (major act)

That's about to change... I just scored two orchestra level tickets to see Tedeschi-Trucks at Jones beach amphitheater tomorrow night. The opening act is a winner as well; The Black Crows.

Derek Trucks is definitely the best slide guitar player alive today. Maybe the best of all time. (Apologies to the late great Duane Allman)

I'm absolutely thrilled.

Jones Beach is an enjoyable venue EPP. I'm assuming you've been before, but those that haven't should try to get to a show there.

On a nice day it's awesome... For those that don't know, you're in an outdoor amphitheater with the beach and Atlantic ocean in the background. I'm not so happy that they don't allow alcohol consumption (beer). The acoustics aren't the best either, not bad but certainly not Beacon Theater quality. Still, it is a great place to see the occasional summer concert. I have tickets to see the Allman Brothers there in early September (also with Derek Trucks).

I've been there a few times to see Jimmy Buffett and we get there at sunrise and sneak into the lots...although they open at 8am. We drink our beer at the tailgate and then go inside and enjoy. Sitting up high on a moonlit night with the moon shimmering off the water. Nice.

I saw Dean Friedman last week. 25 people were there including me, my girlfriend and her mum and dad. Anyone remember him?

Also going to see Airbourne in December.

So I can't find much info on if/who will open for Pearl Jam next Friday at Consol. Looks like a few openers have been announced for pacific NW and the south, and they are using local but established acts (Mudhoney in Portland and Midlake in Texas area). Some rumors Gaslight Anthem will open for east coast dates (they have a new record out, they use same producer as PJ, and Vedder and Fallon are buds, and GA's schedule appears open until Voodoo Festival - where PJ is also on the bill). But just weird that they haven't announced anything yet. I wouldn't be surprised if there were no openers for some dates (afterall, PJs sets are usually 2.5-3 hrs usually anyway). I've been lucky enough to catch some quality opening acts for them in the past - My Morning Jacket in 2006 probably the best. Band of Horses opened in 2010 tour. I'm gettin' kind of pumped for 10/11......

Yep...definitely can't wait till the PJ show here also. 4 time seeing then 2000, im just hoping it's less of a greatest hits show. There are some dynamite songs from No Code - Riot act that I'd love to hear. Im tired of a 12 minute Alive or Even Flow.

I have tickets to see Billy Joe Shaver at the Rex Theater on Sunday. I'm really pumped for this show. I've been keeping an eye on his tour page for years, but Shaver hasn't been anywhere near Pittsburgh. Shaver is a legend of outlaw country.
