I question this as well but i would rather gamble with a total rebuild than to be floundering in cap hell and just letting young players walk. IMO, i think your best chance is to rebuild and have a shot than not rebuilding and having mediocrity rule for the rest of Ben's career.

I'd bet strongly against Ben being healthy after a rebuild, even a short one.

Johnny Manziel seems like Roethlisberger 2.0....at least in terms of character issues

He seems more like a Brady Quinn. Actually he should be playing at ND. He's that kind of dbag.

Any time the pope changes in the Super Bowl era, the Steelers win the next Super Bowl.

The fact he's nicknamed "Johnny Football" makes me want to kick him in the throat

Emmanuel Sanders visiting Patriots and could be signed to an offer sheet that the Steelers would have a hard time matching.

That's irritating. If Sanders goes, that leaves the Steelers with Brown and Burress as wide receivers? Do they even have anyone else signed? Gilreath, maybe?

Don't worry, they'll sign Limas Sweed and Cedrick Wilson and fans will say it's completely okay.

Patriots just signed Donald Jones. Different type of player, but not sure there's really room at the inn.

So Sanders is just there because he had a craving for lobster?

The Steelers can't afford another mediocre draft.

They'll draft Ray Graham, Mike Mauti and the kid from Cal U of PA and will receive rave reviews from the local media.

Ray Graham in the 5th round wouldn't be bad IMO.

They can get WR's later rounds. We at least know they can do that. They have holes on both sides of the ball now.

What do they need?

Get a running back that can run upright. The day of Reggie Bush is fast approaching.

It's easier to list what they don't need at this point: O-line and QB. Pretty much every other position could use some serious reinforcements.

Brandon Lloyd is restructuring his deal as well. If that happens, I doubt the Pats mess with Sanders. Similar players.
