Cortez Allen (AKA the guy who is the reason they didn't bother trying to bring back Keenan Lewis) had a minor knee surgery and is out for a couple weeks. Wonderful.

just put a life size cardboard cut out on the field and no one will notice he's out.

That's Carlos Brown. Allen was plausibly competent last season.

I honestly thought Cortez Allen was one of the few bright spots at the end of the season.

I still hate that they let Keenan Lewis go.

Yeah Allen looked really promising. He had a nose for takeaways which is something our cornerbacks (and the defense in general) has lacked for some time.

1 career INT

I know Ike has no hands, but it's not like Lewis had many takeaways. He was a solid corner though.

Yeah but he only got significant playing time in the last couple games. And I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure he was involved in multiple fumbles too.

My mistake. I thought you referenced lewis. Yea, cortez looked very promising. Only problem is the lack of depth behind him and ike.

Steelers will be wearing the same throwbacks that they wore last year on November 17 (home, vs the Lions)

I don't have the numbers in front of me but I think Lewis borrowed Ike's hands last year and dropped a number of INTs.

Is Jay Riemersma still in the league? Has Pitt produced any tight ends lately worth grabbing?

maybe it's lucky in a way. I watched a little NFL news and there's been a drove of teams that have lost starters for the season before their first pseason game. The Pack and Falcons have lost starting OTs and the Eagles have lost 2 of their top WRS for the season already. Cortez is supposed to be ready for the regular season. The B&G has been losing corners though. Promising rookie Hawthorne has been out as well as Curtis Brow,; although Brown seems like a draft missed draft pick at this point.

They didn't use him enough last year and unfortunately, looks like he might be done at 36.

I doubt it is career ending. Its his first shoulder injury and he had 2 years off. He would have been a great 3rd down target this year though. At least until Miller came back.
