I use a decent amount for a burrito. Maybe 1/5 of a bottle. So if the bottle is exactley 1/5 full, is it ok to just take the bottle? Or should I just empty the whole thing into a container? I can understand why some people may say it's stealing the bottle which maybe can be recycled for 4 cents.

I used to be a waiter, and we would have the trays of Splenda/Equal/Sweet n Low set up on the table. Well, we had quite a few guests that would steal all of the Splenda because of how expensive it is to buy in stores. We had the Splenda there as a courtesy to our guests that prefer that, but people abused the privilege and just hoarded it for their coffee at home. What happened? No more Splenda.

Chalking it up as business costs doesn't make it any less of a lousy thing to do.

Even though it seems the majority of people here say yes, I don't think I can be convinced they are correct. Again, if you guys are talking about stealing the bottle, worth a couple cents recycled, then I agree that's theft. However, I cannot figure out in my head what the difference is between taking what is left in a bottle, and dumping the contents into those little plastic cups. If anything, you're using more of their inventory when you ask for an extra cup.

Ehh, not really either. I think if i told them I was taking the hot sauce they can respond one of two way.

1 - "Enjoy! That stuff is great!"
2 - "Would you prefer to empty into one of our plastic cups?"
