haha, one other question. Why is this different than that time every single person in the world grabbed a hand full of ketchup packets on their way out from mcdonalds, and then only used half of them? This ketchup likely either got thrown out, or used on other food. My chipotle sauce is used in its entirety, and only on Chipotle burritos.

For starters, if everyone grabbed a handful of ketchup packets, there are still more ketchup packets in the back to replenish the stock. If everyone grabbed a bottle of hot sauce, they'd be wiped out in half a day.

ok - So it's the physical bottle you guys are concerned about, not the content within the bottle? I've never taken an unopened new bottle. But if there is like 1/3 of the bottle, which I'd either use on my burrito, or empty entirely into a little plastic cup, it's still wrong?

If you're taking enough hot sauce to add to a burrito you just purchased then it doesn't matter if it's in the bottle or a plastic cup; that's not stealing. If you're consciously taking more in either container to continue using later for something not purchased at the time you procured the hot sauce, then that is theft, or at the very least abuse.

In the latter case, if enough people do what you do then Chipotle may alter how they divvy out hot sauce.

If you're asking whether or not it's wrong I'd say it's wrong. You're taking something that's not yours. You're taking something from someone else in excess of what they expect you to take. That's not saying Chipotle doesn't consider theft like yours in its busines plan. It most certainly does. But that still doesn't make it right.

I don't think it's going to keep you out of Heaven though. That most likely will be accomplished by Heaven not existing in the first place.

Using it on future bottles is stealing. The hot sauce bottle shouldn't leave the store. The only reason that's OK is because it's being used almost immediately. It's also good because it's less wasteful than putting the sauce into a different container and having both get thrown away.

Now, if you were taking the bottle and somehow profiting off of it by reselling or recycling it then that is theft again.

i think the poll says it all. usually polls on this site are somewhere relatively close to 50/50. they might venture into 75/25 from time to time, but this one is currently at 88/12. Taking a bottle an entire bottle of tabasco from a chipotle is stealing.

This is the best. I put it on everything. Well, almost everything.

foshizzle. Some things are better with the paste but some others are better with the rooster "sauce".

According to the "General" (Min's father on King of the Hill) it has to be the sauce with the really angry rooster on it. That's the hottest.

next time you make a burger, make it with sriracha. so amazing. Mixed in blue cheese(which i otherwise hate) and sriracha.
