A Zelda t-shirt at the corporate Christmas party could be a bit awkward, so I completely understand.

It was -3 here this morning. "felt like" -17, though after about -5, I think it all feels the same.

It got colder the further I drove. It was 2 degrees leaving the house, and -2 when I got to work.

Ewww...it was -12 here today. I wasn't happy. Ice never melted off the rear window in the 70 minute drive.

I drive about 25 miles north to work in the morning. It actually gets warmer the further I drive because I get closer and closer to the ocean.

When we get these really frigid days I remember that in the 70's double-knit polyester type pants were really popular. During cold days they were static electricity machines that snapped, crackled and popped like a mini-lightning storm on your legs.

Based on several cultural references from Geezer, I think we are in the same general age group. And that depresses me.

No offense Geezer.

we're supposed to get 1-3 inches starting around 2 today down in MD. Really looking forward to the drive home since people in maryland can't handle driving in snow thats not accumulating...so the drive home will become an obstacle course.

I have to drive home from Bethesda to Frederick today. I get to leave at 3pm but I also took the Prius today as opposed to my suburban. Couple that with typical MD drivers and I may need bail money this evening.

Obviously frigid here in eastern PA too. I don't even mind the cold itself, but when it is this cold for a sustained period of time, the heat in my house really starts to have a hard time keeping up with it, especially when the wind picks up. My house is quite chilly at the moment, no relief in sight till next week.

My hot water heater is having trouble keeping the water hot. I don't completely run out, just get "warm" water for a while. Our apartment is freezing though, outer wall is all windows haha. Not good times.

If you have access to the hot water heater you can turn the temp up on those things easily

Yeah I have, I think the girlfriend is messing with me because the "max out" temp is right where she likes it. She has to change it at night before she takes a shower. I don't know whats up haha.

Be prepared to pay a ton extra though.. if you pay for the utilities.

You can also kill the water intake, drain the tank and clear it of all sediment, then let it fill back up.

My drive home is going to suck as well. 25 miles on 95. :scared:
