I blame this on Barmes. If he turns the easy double play in the first, it's a totally different ballgame. It's okay, he'll make up for it to with the bat this week.

biggest :face: of the game when i had the game on the radio on the way home. it was already like 9-2 brewers and gallardo was pitching to the pirates 7-8-9 hitters in the 7th. tim neverett and bob walk seemed adamant that the brewers needed to lift gallardo that inning soon because he could give up a few runs and mess up his stat line. yeah, that formidable inge-barmes-sanchez really strikes fear in the hearts of opposing managers guys. they seriously babbled on and on with that nonsense for barmes's entire at-bat. neverett didn't even call a single pitch until barmes had already struck out on 3 pitches.

There is actually a team out there named for Bryan Bullington?

Bad luck to talk about nineteen inning games on this board. That's the thing this team needs to avoid most this year.

Being that Brandon Moss was a former Pirate and involved in a 19-inning game, was that the downfall for the 2013 Bucs?

Jonathan Sanchez removed the line about being a Pirates pitcher from his Twitter bio. Looks like the end is near.

But seriously this is good news. Sanchez has been nothing but craptastic this year. I rather give the bottom rotation spot to Liriano to see if he can be the answer there than to stay the status quo. Granted that's not really saying much because automatically Liriano would be an improvement over Sanchez because his last name isn't Sanchez but whatever.

I figure they will let Liriano start in AAA one more time (on Sunday) as NH said because the Pirates have 2 off days in the next week. So, they can skip the 5th spot in the rotation and have everyone pitch on regular rest since they're off Thursday and Monday.

So, I assume McDonald today, Gomez spot-start tomorrow, Burnett 5/3, Locke 5/4, Wandy 5/5, McDonald 5/7, Burnett 5/8, Locke 5/9, Liriano 5/10

Now Sanchez can be picked up by another team and he'll become a solid starter for some team headed for the playoffs.....you know it's going to happen.

At least Erik Bedard still stinks. Though Lyle Overbay looks reborn thanks to steroids in New York.
