I was talking more about my personal experiences with Nats fans than just looking at stadium attendance but yeah if you just look at that I guess they're not that different.

But I'd like to think that, if the Pirates made the playoffs, the fans wouldn't be so quick to jump ship again after next year having half a season of .500, still in WC contention baseball. It's not like they're having THAT bad a season, they're all just too butthurt that they're not getting all the national attention they thought they would.

I don't have a comment on nats fans, other than it's nowhere near Caps fan level (of Pittsburgh hatred). I will say it was a great overall experience, and great props to the Nationals' event staff. Our 4 year old fell on the steps before the game and they were johnny on the spot, got him an ice pack, water bottle, even giving him a baseball out of it. They made sure he was evaluated by EMS just to be safe.

The Nats are pretty bad. They're in a diluted division this year. The Braves have been pretty bad since the beginning of June and are still 6+ games up on the division.

I don't understand doing #for team names anyway. Or maybe its that those guys that do that don't understand twitter. Wouldn't they want to include the team twitter handles instead?

When someone searches say #Pirates, all tweets in which someone hashtagged Pirates will show in the results. Altho I dont personally know anyone who searches certain hashtags like that just to see what people are tweeting. Enough people I follow already talk about the Pirates I dont really care what Johnny Yinzer who I dont know or follow thinks.

Wouldn't they get the same thing by searching @pirates? I understand how # is supposed to work, I just don't see the need for it.

I assume so. Altho its better than people, and athletes mostly who hashtag every other word like thats what people are searching for.

"Great road trip. Its good to be back #home. Our #defense really stepped up. #Heart. Now we're back in front of our crowd. #OurTurf #GetCrazy #PacktheHouse

And invariably some idiot anchor on sportscenter gets to read it, "After the game, so and so tweeted, "Great road trip. Its good to be back hashtag home. Our hashtag defense really stepped up. Hashtag heart. Now were back in front of our crowd, hashtag our turf, hashtag get crazy, hashtag pack the house"

Tweeting @Pirates includes the team in the tweet as a mention.

Hah, was about to post about those three as the 6-7-8 hitters tonight.

Atleast Harper is out for the nationals tonight.

Starting McKenry makes some sense- they have to give Martin a day off either today or tomorrow. But starting him with the other two moves makes the bottom of the lineup a bigger dead zone than normal.

Ali Solis was called up to Indy. They have 3 catchers on the roster. Could be nothing.

The pirates were finally starting to score runs so Hurdle decided to make half the lineup an automatic out for the night to try and restore order.

He's running out of chances to show a pulse. If not for here certainly for his next team.

Gamecenter making it look like Liriano's not getting the corner but should be.
