Yeah, I'm not sure what is so surprising about this regression. They got to 26 games over .500 (or whatever it was) through a combination of ridiculous pitching from top to bottom, a lot of sabermetric luck, and did I mention pitching?
The last several weeks, the pitching is finally starting to show the cracks of regression, and they've gone 2-7 over the last 9 games. Even after the Cardinals series, I didn't think for a second they would win the division. They will end up in the 2nd wild card, IMO, which sucks because I like their chances at home against Cincy/STL better than on the road.
Regardless of what happens, they will finish well above where their talent indicates they should in all likelihood, unless they go on a 12-27 run to end the season or something.
