Kyle Farnsworth treated that ninth inning like it was Paul Wilson.

Tied up. Brewers need to get their ducks in a row and help us out here.

Cards remaining sched;
1 vs Brewers
3 vs Seattle
4 at Rockies
3 at Brewers
3 vs Nationals
Day off
3 vs Cubs

Can only pray the Nats are still alive by the time they play the Cards.

(Cards website thinks they're still tops in the NL West...)

At least the Buccos have their next 10 at home. For how well they have played there this year, this should help them keep pace with the Cards, despite StL having the easier schedule.

So I saw Burnett's tweet yesterday dropping the f-bomb and basically telling us (the fans) that we don't get it and Barmes comes to play day in and day out, I assumed defending him after that homerun he hit yesterday. I didn't realize until today they got into in the dugout? Or AJ got on him about his positioning on what should have been a double play? Anyone know the full story

I only know of him blowing up on him after the hit out on the field. I didn't hear anything about the dugout.

If AJ yelled at me, I'd wait until after the season and then punch him in the face.

They chirped at each other in the dugout as well.

Barmes positioning was off on a potential double play. But if AJ wouldn't have walked the 2 previous batters it wouldn't have been an issue.

So they chirped at each other after that missed play. And then again in the dugout. Then Barmes goes out and hits a home run. And after the game everything was fine.

The end.

Morneau starting against a lefty. Sanchez this year has a .990 OPS against lefties but I guess the offense is loaded enough to leave him on the bench.

To say this is getting aggravating is putting it mildly. Are we obligated to start Morneau every game now because he was a big name acquisition?

I hope this isn't some of Clint's shenanigans to make room on the playoff roster for Jones at the expense of Gaby. Garrett Jones season long body of work has established that he should not be on the playoff roster.

It's nuts, and it leads to Hurdle doing things like playing Sanchez against a righty to "get him some at bats" even though his OPS against righties is .626. But Morneau had two hits yesterday against lefty pitchers so that means ignoring the 568 ABs against lefties since 2010 that suggest he shouldn't hit against them ever. I'm not sure what will aggravate me more- Morneau coming up against lefties tonight and failing, or Morneau coming through and people throwing this post in my face as if a) I'm upset about the Pirates scoring or b) the fact that it worked somehow makes it a good idea. People play Russian Roulette and survive but that doesn't make it a fun game for the whole family.

So in other news Washington beat the **** mets yet again, and the magic number remains at 10.

Atlanta wins as well and are now up to 88

The magic number/Nationals losing does nothing for me. If we collapse badly enough to somehow allow them back into it, we don't deserve to go anyway.
