Bring forth the finest meat and cheeses in the land.

It sure would be nice to have Locke back for the stretch run and any subsequent baseball that happens after the regular season. Do they call that "playoffs" like they do in hockey and football?

Postseason question- do you play Harrison at 2B against lefties, or you do play Walker and sacrifice offense from the 2B spot for the better glove?

We just got hosed. MLB and NHL could switch officials (provided the umps could skate) and there would be no discernible change in quality in either sport.

I just watched the replay...he barely sno-coned that thing, there is no way you can call that a catch in an MLB game. Good lord man

If Mercer's at short I could probably live with Walker at second but .412 vs. .230 makes it pretty tempting to play Harrison if the bats are struggling. Cubs announcers said that the Pirates as a team have the highest batting average against lefties - we're actually 4th (.266) . We're 25th against righties (.243) so it might not be as critical as defense.

I am FAR more concerned about our offense than infield fielding.

Except we actually hit lefties. If Morton's pitching I'd take my chances with Walker.

I wouldn't kill me to see Harrison starting though.

They actually have the best OPS in the NL against lefties but with the fewest ABs against lefties (300 fewer than the #2 team). It's almost like they have a guy at 1B who mashes lefties.

I feel badly for everyone who had the "I told you so!" posts slagging me for complaining about Morneau playing tonight and then had to delete them.

Two-out hit with a RISP after a lead-off double. So it can be done.

This Cubs pitcher is luckier than pre all-star break Jeff Locke.

The Pirates are going to this game 1-0 and spend the last 5 innings ripping line drives right at fielders, aren't they?

Is there anyway I can listen to the Root Sports audio or radio feed? I'm getting tired listening to these WGN announcers.
