That's pretty incredible. I would love to know how many teams can say they've won three consecutive games in a series against the Phils with those pitchers.

The funny part is that rookie that beat us in his debut before we beat "the three aces."

ESPN may mention it once they're done talking about Kobe's tweets and TEBOWTEBOWTEBOW.

So for a beaten down Pirates fan like myself who at this point casually follows the team, at what point should I start paying attention so that I can maximize the emotional trauma associated with a collapse? 13-9 seems too early to start.

I just mentioned this to someone else. Am I happy and somewhat excited about the series in Philly? Of course. After the horrific collapse last season, and how late it occurred, it's going to be awful hard for me to get emotionally invested in the team like I was last year. If I recall correctly, the collapse began sometime around when I ordered MLB.TV, one of the worst investments in my entire life.

If I have learned anything the last 2 seasons, it's the Pirates must avoid a 19 inning game at all costs.

This was the 18th time Hamels-Halladay-Lee succeeded each other in Phils rotation -- and first time #Phillies have lost all 3. #Pirates #MLB

when the pirates are in first place, cole gets recalled from the minors, and the buccos sweep the reds, that will be the perfect time to start getting bucco fever.

Wait for ESPN to notice the Pirates in their attempt to bury the Bucs with attention.

I'm afraid that if I stop dumping on him he'll stop hitting. I'll lay off of him this weekend and we'll see what happens.

It's amazing the type of numbers a platoon guy can put up when used in a platoon!

Jones is .788 1HR 11 RBI

I can't believe Manuel let Jones face a righty today. It's pretty well proven that any lefty with a pulse can handle Jones. Managerial malpractice.

After April 2011, the Pirates were 12-15 with a run differential of -24. They would putz around in May before taking 2 of 3 from Chicago around Memorial Day. After April 2012 they were 10-12 with a run differential of -8. They would putz around in May before sweeping Chicago around Memorial Day. With 5 games left in April the Pirates are 13-9 with a run differential of +7. They play Chicago the week before Memorial Day this year.
