Unfortunately the Cardinals and Reds both have better rosters than the Pirates have. The Cardinals might be playing slightly over their head cause of that garbage bullpen and the ridiculous era their starters have right now. But the Reds are just really good, Cueto has been out since he left the game against the pirates right?

Playoffs are a longshot regardless, but they'll probably contend most of the season.

Just took a look at the Reds play since they were swept by the Pirates:

Swept Philly
Won 3 of 4 from Miami
Won 2 of 3 from Chicago
Lost 3 of 4 against Washington
Lost 2 of 3 against St. Louis
Swept Chicago
Lost 2 of 3 against Atlanta
Swept Milwaukee
Swept Miami

Notice anything that their series wins and losses have in common? Fortunately for them they get to fatten up on the Phillies, Cubs, and Mets before playing Cleveland and Pittsburgh at the end of the month.

#Pirates -210 over #Astros at MGM. Pittsburgh has not been a bigger favorite since 2004.

They did sweep 4 of 9 series there. Can't hold it against them for taking it to those cupcakes.

I think the impressive part of that is that these are the odds for a team with Jeanmar Gomez starting to win.

While the Buccos have scored just 3 more runs than the Astros this season, The Astros have given up 104 more runs than us in just 41 games. Their team ERA is 5.79

Absolutely. Good teams beat up bad teams. But it should say something that they lost the 3 series they have played to teams with a pulse. And the last sweep was over Miami, not Atlanta. Not sure how I messed that up.

Pirates should easily handle the Astros 2 of 3, but that money line is tempting on the Astros this evening

With the Pens playing tonight so far the only times both the Pens and Pirates have won on the same day in the NHL playoffs have been when I'm handling the GDT. Canaan lacks my swag. Someone's losing tonight.

Contreras is on the Bereavement List. Hughes back up today.

Dejan is whining on Twitter about Pirates fans being excited about their team.

To be fair, he's not entirely wrong here. He's saying enjoy it, but don't start scolding others for not believing that the teams tunred the corner.
It's too early in the season for "I told you so's". And as I said, he's not wrong about that.

Someone who was throwing "I told you so" around after 6 games shouldn't complain when people throw it back at him.

Poser DFA'd by Oakland. I have this feeling of dread that NH will decide the bullpen could use a veteran RHP.

If I told you at the beginning of the year Jordan Lyles and Jeanshorts were facing off and one of the two had an ERA over 8, who would you have guessed had that ERA?

Cutch goes deep, ties the game. Would be leading if Marte weren't thrown out trying to steal.

The Pirates no longer have to face Bud Norris on Sunday.

He's the closest thing Houston can call an ace.

Some jobber named Dominguez takes Gomez deep. 2-1 Astros. Pirates offense is making Lyles look like Pedro in his prime.

3-1 Astros. Jeanshorts remembered he sucks. He'd had a ridiculously low BABIP coming in to today.
