Should the subs have started the game?

Eh i don't really care. I'm all for Mercer starting every game at SS. Marte was just taking a maintenance day. I would have liked snider in right and Jones at first, but then we have no left handers on the bench. We won so I don't care too much.

I guess with the off day for the Brewers it wont really matter. But they got a second consecutive short outing from their starter. So they're taxing their bullpen for the second consecutive day. Hopefully they make it a game today and end up using some useful arms.

1-0 Bucs as Cutch doubles and Jones singles him home. Nice to see the Bucs scoring with two outs when usually they are the team that goes to crap with two outs.

The Cubs load the bases, with no outs and Liriano gets out of a jam.

I know it's the Cubs but can we stop kicking the ball around the infield?

Does Neil Walker have a ton of GIDPs, or is it just me?

Good lord, 9 SO for Liriano and only 90 pitches through 6 2/3. This couldn't be any further from his historical production, but I am loving it right now.

10 over .500. Last year they hit that mark on July 5.

I will be in court tomorrow afternoon. You rabble will have to do things without me. Try not to Mike Wallace the situation again.

Having Liriano and Locke pitching like they are with Burnett and Wandy. If only one of McDonald, Gomez, Karstens, and/or Morton can give us a decent start once in awhile, this is a playoff team, yeah I said it. Provided of course the Cards and Reds ever lose.

He's really been impressive so far, especially all the K's. I'll take it.

He's a devastating pitcher when healthy. He's just never healthy.

I know the Pirates started out with hardly any offense at all, has that not changed? They are still pretty meager as far as runs scored, but that could be because they were anemic early.

They actually averaged more runs per game in April than in May. Certainly something that needs to change.

Holy crap...yeah because I was looking at the top of the standings and the Pirates don't look like they belong with the Cards, Reds, or Braves...then I looked at the Giants and...215 runs for, 211 runs against  . Of course, they're 2.5 back behind the top 4.

They need more production from 3B, SS and 2B. I think they'll need to acquire another OF bat. I think they're around 20th in most offensive categories, it's not as if they're bottom of the league. But definitely room for improvement.

Yeah they're not at the bottom, but I also don't think they're going to be effectively the best in the league at runs against either. When that regulates, the offense is going to need to jump. Its really annoying not watching them at all, its impossible to feel like I have any idea what i'm talking about just looking at team stats from 2 months of play.

Well. Cutch has to heat up a little bit .. And I don't think there's any way Pedro and Neil hit like this the rest of the year. Right? Barmes is a black hole in the lineup.
