this is actually a fact. my uncle is good friends with wally bell and my uncle told me wally admits that pitchers love him for his big strike zone. why? wally wants the game to be over.

No kidding! Wally Bell should be a little less transparent about it.

Dammit, Cutch.

Buccos are in trouble...

The way they are losing is just totally unacceptable. Amazing pitching and the bats continue to suck BADLY!

The pitching is NOT going to continue to be this good. These are games you HAVE to win.

Welp. Oh, to have Offense On-Demand like the Braves and Cardinals.

We're going to lose three series in a row.

This stretch will test hurdle's ability to keep the guys up and not let their confidence get down.

I'm resigned that they'll never beat the A's.....The Mets can't get here soon enough.

Whether or not newer fans are concerned, unhappy, or whatever, I hope they stay on the bandwagon. The Bucs need us to help them get through this.

I was never on the ship. But you can't blame anyone for jumping off at this point. The past two + decades are enough of a sample size for me to have zero faith.

I'd love to see them win, but until they finish with that record we all want to see, I'll just watch calmly with absolutely no emotional ties.

I was happy to see the Phillies and Cubs on the schedule last week, and that didn't work out. Tomorrow is another day.

The Pirates are sub-.600 (I know, gasp!) for the first time in several weeks.

Oh, yeah; that's why I followed with "I hope fans stick by them." I'd never presume to tell another Pirates fan what to do at this point.

Just frustrated right now. I'm not giving up but all of a sudden the all star break is approaching and the team is playing bad just like the past two seasons.

But it's not really like the last two seasons. The pitching is still there, and not going anywhere. We lost the last 4 by 5 runs. The bats won't stay this cold.

ulf, I hope I'm not invading your virtual personal space by clinging to you and your optimism.

BTW, what is that cologne you're wearing?

It's okay haha. I mean I'm usually a little optimistic, but I feel like it's sort of rational to think we won't have 4 hits a night the rest of the year.

I blame Billy Bean.

Actually I don't. He runs his organization the way the Pirates should have been since 2002.

I'm with you ulf. Good pitching will beat good hitting, in the long run. If the pitching stays like this, they will win more than they lose. This staff is strong and deep. Just a couple hits away from winning. Bats don't have to catch fire, just warm up......a little. This year will be different.

Its the same as it has been for the past 3 or 4 years. They have pitching or they have hitting. They never have both.
