Yeeeeeeeah, Penn State fans really can't comment on this. I mean, Pitt really hasn't had any issues with showers.

Way to keep it classy. Mac wasn't even ripping Pitt

The truth hurts.
Pitt fans can't rip on Penn State either. Their football program has been non-existent since the early 80s, but they live with that moment much like the Pirates. So, in theory...both sides should keep their mouths shut, just like I didn't. See, I learn from my mistakes.

We have a Big Ten championship in recent memory. I should know I was at the game

Yeah, being a Pitt fan is tough, but I am used to being disappointed by them, so I am numb to it anymore.

Don't blame Adams at all for going pro. We have said for years that Pitt never has any 1 and done guys, and we finally do and suddenly its a bad thing? Sure, Steven could use another year in college to refine his game, but the NBA draft is all about potential, so I dont blame him one bit for what he did. Shell is a different story....

Sack up Kenny. It's not the end of the world.

Many thought he was one and done anyway.

We always wanted a one and done type player.

(I just hoped they won something meaningful after it.)

I think that is the part that sucks. If they would have went to the Final Four or won the BE tourney or something and he dominated, then this wouldn't be a shock at all.

Adams played decent, but was by no means dominate. And Pitt, while having a nice season, really has nothing to show for it.

The year Blair left, I was perfectly fine with it. He did all he could do. This, I thought Adams would have been here at least one more year.

Counting undergrad and law school, I went to Pitt for eight years. I was the recipient of an Alumni Association scholarship as an undergrad and went to many of their programs. I was once part of a presentation during halftime of a Pitt Basketball game at the old field house. I can still sing the Pitt alma mater from memory, as the Alumni Association would sing it to close every program. Am I a fan of Pitt athletics? Heck no! They suck.

Adams has all those siblings and no father. I respect his decision because it wasn't really made for greed as much as it is to capitalize on the opening window for his talents (and by talents I mean height) in order to help his family.

Now Shell on the other hand, I hate to say it but I agree with the fat man on the X about Shell. Abandoning his twin infant daughters. :thumb: Nice guy.

I've been pretty quiet and just watching this thread unfold. I have no comment on the main topic.

However, with respct to Rushel Shell, isn't jimon's use of the word 'abandoning' a bit strong?

It seems that way to not only me but a lot of people that have commented about Shell. Also evidenced by his girlfriend's tweet castigating him for leaving the Pgh area. It's been discussed in the Pgh Sports Radio thread as well.

Pitt needed to pay him the $$ that a Pac-12 or SEC school would.

I would rather have my fingers and toes cut off with cigar clippers than wear one of the "loser blue" jerseys. Can't stand them.

Edit: And to clarify, I was never a fan of Pitt athletics to begin with, so the fact that I am not a fan now is not a change. No way was I going to develop a fandom for Pitt. For example, the second year I was at Pitt the football team went 4-7, which included 0-72, 0-45, and 6-60 losses to Ohio State, Miami, and Notre Dame, respectively. I particularly remember the Ohio State game for one play where the Buckeyes ran back a Pitt punt for a touchdown with (IIRC) only nine guys on the field. At the same time, the basketball team (under Ralph Willard) was equally putrid.

It would take Shell about that time to actually graduate with an associates.
