I was told to throw him to the wolves. If he can't do it im supposed to make his life miserable. Its crappy how this works, but you nees to have a certain attitude in my line of work. Being a perpetually negative person definitely helped me.

I might take a day off work and drive out for a ride-along. This seems like something that'd be a great creative outlet for my mindset.

I'd love to know what genius dreamed up that management style. :face:

Even the Navy Seals don't take that approach, I can't think of a harder job than being a Seal.

I'd imagine that only a certain type of person is cut out for that type of work. If he's too soft, I'd put more blame on whoever hired him than whoever was responsible for training him

id imagine that line of work is tough to judge a person by an interview. we have a lot of guys that talk like they know what they are doing, but are absolutely clueless when it comes to the actual work.

I used to do debt collection over the phone for a fundraising outfit in Greensburg. You can have it.

that has to be highly unethical in your line of work to talk about locations that specifically.

Just saying.

I'd wager it's the people who are being collected from.

So he thinks they should be grateful?

I agree that they shouldn't be indignant because it's of their own accord that they are being collected from. but thankless, unless he's being fecitious is a silly notion in this case.

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
