Old lady knew I was coming, so it was a friendly visit. Fight amongst one another.

LOL please post or at least PM me names of folks you pick up. You are probably the second ever el gippe to visit my town.

I'm fairly certain this is a felony, or at least against a whole slew of government regulations

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.

I'd expect a debt collector to know that. Not me. :pop:

I was going to say thankless is kind of an odd word choice, as you're not working in the interest of the public good or betterment. You're working to collect a fee for what I assume is a private company. You're basically scraping the gum off the bottom of the capitalist machine.

Not implying your job isn't worth doing, but thankless struck me (and others) as kind of an odd word choice.

That's exactly why it's thankless. We don't have to infer that he thinks they should be thankful. Though it's not thankless in the sense that his company is thankful.

Yeah, but his employer is the only one that would be thankful. And I'm certain they give him a paycheck. So, how is it thankless again? I'm still curious to hear the answer to this question:
