I had to take down my home theater setup so we could put in new carpet. As I was reconnecting my subwoofer, Yamaha YST-SW216, I heard a loud rattle coming from inside the unit. Thinking I had somehow broken it, I tried to look through the port to see if I could get some idea what was in there. What I found was up to 5 years of who-knows-what that my daughter and any number of other children had put into the port. Trying to move the subwoofer around to get the stuff to come back out the port, needless to say, didn't work. I feel like I should unscrew the back plate and try to go in that way to get the stuff out, but I don't even know if that's possible or how great the risk of destroying the subwoofer is. I would rather have a subwoofer with a few unimportant things rattling around inside it than have no subwoofer at all. Can anybody offer me some advice?
