Good Place to Park Bicycle Downtown

Postby Mr. Colby on Wed Apr 10, 2013 5:53 pm

I live in reasonable bike-riding distance from where I work... so I was thinking that for the summer, instead of pay $100/month for a bus pass, I could either A. park my bike in town and walk to work, or B. park my bike near a T station (the free portion - preferably 1st avenue station) and ride the T over...

Anyone ride their bike into town or know of a good place to lock it up for the work day?

Check where you work...some of the larger companies like to push green initiatives and have their own bike racks in a more secure location. There are racks over by PNC Park I believe - I am not sure how safe, but the T isn't far from there.

Other than that - poke around this website and I am sure you can either find what you need or ask someone that knows more:

There are bike racks by the 1st avenue t stop, not sure what part of town your coming from, but if your coming from the southside that would probably work for you.

There are also bike racks by the courthouse/garage near 2nd Ave on the jail trail (the garage that hooks up with the T)

This would be ideal. I'm going to ride over there and see what it looks like. Thanks!

biking to work in tahn is one of those things that seems like a good idea, but in practice, would blow
