I've heard that the bomb was likely detonated by a remote device crafted from a remotely controlled car toy.

I guess the device could be in one of those backpacks.

I've been wondering what in the hell their motivation could have been.

Most of these acts are from people who are trying to make a point. (the DC shooter being the lone exception that I can think of right now). What the heck point were these guys trying to make?
