It's incredibly reckless - for the reasons columbia, NAN and canaan have articulated, but mainly because no one on reddit and 4chan has access to any piece of physical evidence. They're just wildly speculating, trying to play cop. Might as well be throwing darts at pictures for all the good it does.
Who is more reckless... internet cowboys that are trying to do some good for better or worse or the idiot media that treats these sites as legitimate sources?
100% the media who pulls this information as legit.
I've learned that in today's world, there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop people from posting BS, or doing their own thing, whether legit or not. You just have to look past that stuff. But when credible news sources REPORT (not blog, or discuss opinion on radio shows), but REPORT stuff that is blatantly wrong, that is where you know something is wrong.
The NY Post just better step back from this story because they've struck out. 12 dead. arrests made. and while they never said those two guys were the bomber, saying they were going to be released as a person of interest to the public, they just need to stop.
