I kinda hope they don't put him with the al-Qaeda guys in Florence. They'd probably love the kid.

It really blows my mind though that they were able to identify them and actually get to them so quickly. Thought the investigation was going to take weeks and then who knows.

the first related thing i thought of was this: how good is law enforcement image recognition software? on tv cop shows they turn a blurry image into a positive id thru a magic computer. were they able to scan all those pics and flag one of them (likely the older bro) as a potential target?

More like the high definition technology of current times makes it easy to see faces and zoom in on large pictures without reducing quality by much.

He didn't really say America is evil. He said there is evil in America. Can we really disagree with that?

He probably did it and doctored the marathon tapes. Is it really a coincidence that Boston was on lockdown and Cooke was "stuck" there?

Am I the only person who cringes a little when I hear a "USA!" chant in response to stuff like this? I'm not even sure why I feel that way, but I do.

So, it's a bit early for that type of nationalism because we don't yet know what the motivations of the actors were, but if it's shown that they were ALQ operatives.... then... I'd have to say that I have no problem with it.

Obviously I'm with you on that. He seems to be worried that people will believe these men did this because of his country.

The murdered MIT police officer's escort home (Collier). Apparently he was a really nice 26 year old guy that loved his kickball league

SMH.

That's almost as good as someone being upset that the Pens game was cancelled on Friday and they couldn't get their Pens Points.

The crowd they were filming was primarily (at least looked like) college kids. I'd imagine the vast majority of Boston was like any of us. Sitting at home, a bit relieved that they got the guys, felt a little safer, and waiting to hear the rest of the story. Of course, you get a group of college kids around, and you can film the reaction you saw for most of the coverage. Hence the guys climbing the pillars with their shirt off while chanting.
