Why do you believe that this is a political issue?
I mean, if you have a brain, one can determine that it's a racial slur....I don't see a political element to that.

The Patent Office received no official complaints, I believe, and it's made to sound like it's a national outrage, when only a small group or two has made some kind of fuss. Most people just don't care.

Yea, they're old / became big enough to the point I think a bunch of ESPN guys even came out saying what a "Great guy" Berman is. Its still one of the best things on the internet, IMO

I love the statement by ESPN. Nothing says "we're an extremely dull and non-threatening company" like that quote.

Seconded. If only HBO had a nightly sports show where they just let the anchors talk like sports fans.

I stand by my offer that I would pay a lot of money to get uncensored cable tv. I want to hear everything that players say during games, what analysts say during commercials, etc.

Back when I didn't have cable for a spell, I would watch a lot of streams of NHL games. Well, some of the Euro feeds didn't cut to commercial (as the state-run channels, or whatever, don't have commercial breaks) so there was an odd time or three that you could hear the exchange going on...some of it was pretty good...if you had to pick a person to invest in, I'd say Ray Ferraro of TSN, but I'm not sure what he's going to be doing for the next 12 years now that TSN doesn't have hockey...

If you go to a sportscar race like United Sports Car, and probably with NASCAR and Indy you can use as scanner to pick up the broadcast announcers feed. They use a hot mic so you can hear them BS'ing during commercial breaks.

- Goodell believes there is "tremendous demand" for NFL in Europe and having in London is a realistic possibility within the next five to ten years.

- The draft is moving to either Chicago or LA, will remain in May, and will possibly expand to four days as the league examines ways to "strengthen" the final day of the draft and make it more exciting for fans.

I hate you Roger Goodell.

The only thing I can understand is watching the first round of the draft and even then I only ever watch a few picks. Who in their right mind would ever watch the last rounds?

The draft was great when it was on Saturdays and it lasted all day.

The draft is obnoxious now. I don't even like to watch the first round anymore.

Too much time for all the talking heads to blabber nonsense and it's way drawn out.

The random cussing / joking around videos I'd agree with. The freaking out on set people / cussing them out in a workplace environment / the creepy old guy stuff with the female co-worker.. not so much

The ratings will improve because it's stretched out and people can go do things in between the time it's not on. That and most sports fans are complete morons.

So the guy who essentially orchestrated Michael Vick's return to football thinks Michael Sam will be a distraction?

Lots of 7th round draft picks have the 4th most popular jersey sold in the league before camp opens. Nothing to see here, move along, not a distraction at all.

Tebow sold a lot of jerseys too.

I don't think he said anything that was incorrect. In his clarifications he said at the time those quotes were taken he was in the middle of having the Oprah Network do that reality TV show and everything. He was never asked about his playing ability, wasn't asked about if he deserves a chance, he was asked if he would have drafted him and he said no because of all the distractions associated with him and the reality TV show. At the end of the day there were 31 teams who passed on him. Tony was explaining he would have passed as well.

And as far as potential upside, I'm not sure you can compare Sam to Vick.
