I had to undergo quite a bit of brainwashing to get myself to stop buying the flatbrims and keeping stickers.

there is definitely a difference, but in this context, both POVs are reprehensible. i know you mean well, and i believe everything you said about treating people with respect and compassion. but like it's been said, this is still no different than disagreeing with someone for being black or disabled. and that doesn't sound good, does it?

Everyone has a right to believe what they want, unless they don't believe what I believe in which case I shall call them names like boogerhead.

Do you not agree that there is a difference between judging people based on their choices as opposed to judging them based on how they were born?

That's really all this is about.

There are studies that show that being aggressive, non-caring, and what we would consider just being an all around *** are written into certain people's genetic code. I'm still going to say, "man, that guy is a real dick." and not agree with the way he or she lives. also, who is judging people? I am saying is that I understand there are people out there that don't agree with it. Plain and simple. That's really not that hard to comprehend is it boogerhead?

Yes. There's also a difference between one saying it's a sin, and saying you are homophobic. I'm Catholic. It's a sin, doesn't mean I give a crap. Premarital sex is also a sin. Whoops. See what I mean? Cue the ulf is a bad Catholic jokes.

Collins "comes out" and is considered brave. Brussard "comes out" and is considered hateful. Collins lifestlye is ok, while Brussards lifestlye is not. Bigotry and hatered can and does go both ways, but in today's society it is being open to whatever you want to do as long as it doesn't bother me. So when your daughter or son gets hooked up with drugs, why do parents do all they can to get them out of that lifestlye, it was their choice.

I believe you're wrong, but hey, everyone's entitled to their beliefs. People still believe that we never went to the moon too. No big deal.

I don't know or care if its a choice or not. I also don't care what you do in your personal time. I don't want your sexuality broadcast no matter what it is.

Saw a post on facebook questioning the timing of his announcement. I'm not sure if I agree with it (this person's post), but there is some logic to it.

He's 34 and at the end of the his NBA career, averaging a point per game and sucking up whatever bench minutes he can. His season ends but the NBA season is still going on. Collins makes the announcement at what is basically the end of his career. He is technically still active and good for him for being open about his life, but is he the first truly active player to come out?

I mimic that sentiment. The idea of an active player doing it is fine, but calling him an active player is a stretch.
