I find it hard to believe that 7 people on this planet think bacon is overrated, let alone just on this board.

Bacon is tasty, and I enjoy it on occasion. It is also ridiculously overblown

it's one of those things that is good, but can't help be overrated due to the amount of hype it gets. much like nutella. i'm confused why the internet has embraced these 2 foods.

you know what food is awesome? blueberries. tasty... loaded with antioxidents... let's start a meme about them.

Blueberries are meh city.

They're not even the best antioxidant in their own food group.
The researchers also compared the antioxidant activity of black raspberries to that of blueberries and strawberries, two fruits with suspected chemopreventive effects. Black raspberries prevailed in the comparison by as much as 40 percent.

I agree with this.

At Wegman's, you can buy freshly picked (and immediately frozen) raspberries and strawberries. Completely delicious, and still 100% of the nutrients you would get anyhow.

For years the wife and I have bought 20 or more quarts each of fresh strawberries and blueberries in bulk at local fruit farms. We 'flash freeze' what we don't plan to use immediately to last us through the fall and winter. You can get better quality and it's cheaper than bags of store bought frozen fruit. And this year, I think we're finally going to try making some preserves.

I'm also seriously considering buying a few acres just to plant black raspberries.

Bacon is appropriately rated. I am, however, a little over the bacon craze that's dominating the food scene today.

That said, I still laugh when I hear the Farmland Bacon radio commercial..... "You can even put bacon on salad. Salad! Ever wonder why there aren't any bacon cookbooks? Probably because bacon doesn't need one."

I grew up in McCandless township. Anyone who knows that area knows that behind the Duncan Manir shopping center there were about 5 acres of Black Rasberry fields. Every summer my siblings and I would pick dozens of quartes of Black Rasberrys and we'd sell many, flas freeze many, and my mother would make dozens of pies.

It's an awesome memory.

I'm with many people. Bacons damn tasty, but people are way too OMG IT HAS BACON IN IT!

Also on the crispy bacon negativity - bacon is supposed to be crispy. If you want chewy bacon snap into a slim jim.

Bacon is supposed to be crispy if you burn it. If not, nice and chewy is the way to go.
