Sullivan and Son

Show looks pretty good, but I never watched it. Anyone know if it is worth the time to get into it?

I think it has its moments but Steve Byrne is a lousy actor.

Based on the commercials, I thought to myself aloud, "if these are the moments they're showcasing, then I can't imagine how bad the filler must be throughout the rest of the show..." Kind of like Two Broke Girls promos when I watch Colts games on CBS...I assume they're showcasing at least a couple of the funniest things in that episode and they are almost facepalmingly bad...

I was interested in the show because there was a Mario Lemieux jersey hanging in the background, but after seeing the promos for it, it sounds unbelievably unfunny...despite Vince Vaughn's name being attached to it, who I actually like...

Sounds like a terrible show. I listen to DVE in the mornings and they constantly pimp that show along with Mike and Molly.

But then again, i hate almost all TV so what do i know?

Every time I see these commericals, I think the same as you. How the **** can that be a profitable show?

There undoubtedly is going to be a large number of people in Pittsburgh that think its hysterical for no other reason than they have Pens and Pirates stuff on the wall. Same with Pittsburgh Dad. He mentions Heinz Field and a store down town.."OMG HAHAHAHAA"

meh, I think it's a great show to fall asleep too if that means anything? Way better than that show with 4 dudes though.

I watched it once or twice and it wasn't that great. I honestly don't know how it wasn't canceled. And I'm usually a person that is more easily entertained and patient with shows.

I saw an episode last night. Didn't find it funny, but maybe it's targeted to some other younger group. #shrug

I like Pittsburgh Dad. Some of them. Some of them are dead on and funny. Some are meh.

Sullivan and Son is terrible. I tried watching it again last night. Ugh.

Part of the problem is there are far too many "colorful" characters. And with the exception of Brian Doyle-Murray's, they all stink. BDM is too good for the show.

Same with Dan Laurie. He's far too good for it.

Maybe if they ditched a lot of the characters, and gave Dan Laurie more to do, it'd be better. But it's just awful right now.

I caught a good piece of an episode late last night, but it was more "intentionally raunchy" than funny...it was generally not funny with pieces of "trying too hard" and above all it was a dud. That was one episode, so I don't know, but it didn't leave a great first impression...

I watched a few episodes last summer with a newborn at 2-4 am. I didn't think it was terrible, but there's not a "signature" to it. However, I can count the number of sitcoms over the last 20 years that I've enjoyed on my fingers.

Mikey, funny you mention Two Broke Girls. Every time a commercial comes on I scream to my wife, "How is that show still on the air?!"

Two Broke Girls was always too blatant with its raunchy humor. At least in the small sample of shows I have seen. But, that appears to be a trademark of Whitney Cummings and as such I do not find her to be that funny.

Yes both these shows just try too hard and and its so blatent that all they worry about is being raunchy and offensive. And all the setups are so easy, its like a half hour of "thats what she said jokes' It doesnt take a comedy genius to write something to set one of those jokes up.
