BornTrade....Would You Order?

Postby FreeCandy44 on Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:31 pm

Debating on whether to order a Jersey from the site. Anyone order from here lately have any success? I mean I want to order but I don't want it to get seized at the border.

The jersey in question...http://www.borntradejersey.cn/product/Pro2510.Html

As far as I remember it's safe to order as long as you are not ordering large amounts to resell. DHS did take down their site at some point so maybe pay with a MO? You don't customs or your friendly neighborhood postal inspector coming to your house.

I think if you order 1 you could probably claim ignorance.

When all this stuff started I ordered 10 jerseys. Nothing happened. I put a second order of 10 in and got busted. All they did was write me a warning and took the jerseys. Two or three years later I ordered just 1 jersey that I really wanted and sent it to someone elses address. Everything worked out fine. You should be OK with just ordering one.

I know someone who bought jerseys from there occasionally, and he never got busted.

Watch out for sizes. The shirts tend to run big. I ordered a Coffey last year and it fit me like a dress and is unwearable. I am a shade under 6 ft tall and ordered my normal jersey size of XL.

I would look on CL for the people that bought them and are reselling...you should be able to find them for around $50 that way.

Are there any stores or vendors in downtown pgh that offers jerseys of this quality and price? I just don't want to pay a lot of money.

As long as you don't order like 20 at a time you'll be fine. I've ordered four times and neve had any problems, although one time the tracking number they gave didn't work but I still got the order eventually anyway. They only seize them at customs if you order enough that you clearly intend to resell.

As far as quality goes, what you see is what you get. If you notice a flaw in a jersey in the picture they have online it WILL be there when it comes to your door. I only order jerseys if there are no noticeable flaws in the picture and all the jereys I have received have been great. The Van Slyke one looks fine to me but someone else may have a sharper eye.

The nameplate on the back looks a little cockeyed, but maybe it's the picture.
