I won $260 on a $100 league in my first year, and survived drafting Spiller in the first round. I'll consider that a win.

I'd ask how bad your league really is but it goes 17 weeks so I know the answer.

Meh, i worked the waiver wire hard and still put up a crap load of points despite having a 4-10 record entering the playoffs.

Got second place, but yeah.. The 3 division winners get in, and the wild card fourth seed is the point leader after those 3 are eliminated. I was the top point getter in the league at the week 14 point.

Yes.... I'm addicted., but I'm in a fantasy playoff league. We re-draft every week if you survive (start with 8 teams, then go down to 4, then 2 for the Conference championships).

So, ONLY for this week

With Pierre Thomas out... who would you rather have?

PPR

Trent Richardson or Khiry Robinson (I already have Donald Brown / Mark Ingram).

Really guessing who's more likely to steal off the 2 guys I already have...

Same and I'm a Colts fan.

Richardson will catch the ball out of the backfield though...he's looked a little better late in the year, but not a ton...better chance at a TD from him than Robinson if I had to guess...

Anyone else in dynasty league?

Trade freeze (rapidly approaching) from start of NFL FA until completion of NFL draft

My moves this off-season:
Dropped
Prater
Cinci's D

Added
Dion Lewis
Khiry Robinson (before news on any Saints RB came out)
Robert Turbin

Traded
Ray Rice for 2014 5th overall rookie pick / 2015 1st round rookie pick (before domestic abuse charges)
Daren Sproles for 2014 11th overall rookie pick / 2014 15th overall rookie pick (before he got cut)
Jonathan Stewart / Jeremy Maclin for David Wilson / Riley Cooper (before news came out on any of these guys)

Current Team, 10 team league, PPR, 6 pts per passing td, QB RB RB WR WR TE Flex
QB: Brees, Tannehill
RB: Lynch, Stacy, Christine Michael, David Wilson, Khiry Robinson, Robert Turbin, Andre Brown, Toby Gerhart, Dion Lewis
WR: Decker, Cruz, Fitzgerald, Kendall Wright, Wheaton, Stevie Johnson, Kenny Britt, Riley Cooper
TE: Graham, Bennett

2014 rookie draft picks: 5th, 11th, 15th, 28th

What'd you guys think... overall I'm really happy with it. Was able to add 4 draft picks (2 first rounders, 2 2nd rounders) for aging rbs not in my starting lineup. So got a lot younger, while keeping my team good for next year.

I have a lot of guys just holding onto to see if I get lucky and end up with value after free agency (Andre Brown, Toby Gerhart, Dion Lewis, Kenny Britt).. The way I see it is I'll have to cut 3 guys for my rookie picks / eventually 2 more guys when I pick up a K / D again so took some fliers at end of season that I'll probably end up cuttin

I like deep leagues, but the number of players you have in that league is ridiculous. How many do you start and how many do you roster?

20 man rosters for dynasty really isn't that deep (we keep every players forever). It allows you to keep and watch Markus Wheaton's develop, which is fun... Makes the rookie draft awesome. I got Zac Stacy last year for example.

Starting lineups are standard QB RB RB WR WR FLex TE

Once season start / rookies are draft a lot of those scrub guys won't be on team (for instance, 5 of my guys will be cut for D / K / Draft picks)

It makes more sense during season... For instance, a typical QB position a team will have is something like: Drew Brees, Ryan Tannehill, Johnny Football.. . Usually its a normal type lineup with a prospect thrown in. Pretty much repeat for every position

Good looking team, I'd say. I like the Khiry Robinson add for sure. I don't have a great sense of 10 team rosters since I have only done 12 for the past 6 years or so, but I would be very happy with that team if Robinson pans out. Perhaps a bit thin at RB, but I think with some of the moves you've made you can take care of that issue (which you somewhat knowingly created on moves that seem okay).

I was just looking over my team this week. I finished last this year -- had one of those years. By the CBS breakdown, I should have gone 6-7 this year but went 3-10. But, I was able to make several moves that I think have me set up very, very nicely for this coming season.

It is a salary cap league. Player's auction price is his cap hit and players can be signed to deals of 1-4 years. You can re-sign one player every other year. There is a practice squad team that does not count against the cap.

QB: Case Keenum ($11/1), Jake Locker ($12/2), Zac Dysert ($6/2)*
RB: Doug Martin ($225/3), Giovani Bernard ($149/3), Ben Tate ($35/2), Stevan Ridley ($40/?), Joseph Randle ($37/3)*
WR: Brandon Marshall ($119/1), Justin Blackmon ($72/2), Michael Crabtree ($35/?), Jarrett Boykin ($10/1), Kenny Britt ($35/1), Michael Floyd ($70/2)*, Terrance Williams ($16/2)*, Markus Wheaton ($27/3)*, Kenny Stills ($11/3)*, Stedman Bailey ($17/3)*
TE: Julius Thomas ($1/2)
DST:
K:

*= farm player (they can be played at that price but have to be re-signed (at likely higher price) the post-season after they exceed 7+ games on active roster.

I acquired an additional re-sign so that I can re-sign both Crabtree at $35 and Ridley at $40 if it ends up making sense to resign Rids. I figure Crabtree at that price is a no brainer.

I also have the 1st, 5th, and 6th overall picks in the draft.

If I start with:

QB: Locker
RB: Martin, Bernard, Ridley, Tate
WR: Marshall, Crabtree, Floyd, Blackmon, Boykin, Britt, Williams
TE: Thomas
K: $1
DST: $1

Rodgers, Romo, Brady, Newton are all available in the auction.

I will have $179 to spend, which probably doesn't get me Rodgers. I'll likely cut Britt, though, which would probably give me close to enough to get Rodgers. I'' probably try to move Blackmon or Floyd as well for someone older but cheaper. If I add Rodgers to that team, I think I would roll. I have so many options with all of those WRs and picks.

if you get rodgers, i really really like your team as well

qb is such a weird postiion in ff.... because 8 guys every year end up good in that position its so devalued, but its virtually impossible to win if you are one of few with such a weakness (other weaknesses can be overcome)

Can I be completely annoying / brag for a second? :D (Based on contract, looks like he's the starter in jax)...don't worry, he'll likely crash and burn there (were a couple other ppl confused be me bringing up gerhart for dyno)

IanMoran wrote:
Troy Loney wrote:what situation propels gerhart's value? a plane carrying the 50+ RB's better than him crashing?

Haha, I've actually been targeting him for quite some time. I don't think he gets enough credit, he's a FA this year and will likely get a shot to compete somewhere IMO

Recent games (before last week when he got no carries)
vs. Sea : 7 carries, 67 yards
vs. GB: 8 carries, 91 yards

In 2011, ADP got hurt and he received his only 4 career starts:
vs. Den: 21 carries, 91 yards
vs. Det: 19 carries, 90 yards
vs. Wash: 11 carries, 109 yard
vs. Chi: 15 carries, 67 yards

I don't think he's a SUPERSTAR, but I do think he'll be someone that'll be on fantasy lineups (at least to start) next year..

Maybe I'm drinking the koolaid in MN too much, but I think him "sucking" is just him backing up the best rb in the league / not getting an opportunity

Anyone with early thoughts on what rookie only drafts will look like this year? Obviously, for dynasty leagues.

Top 5 of maybe:
Watkins
Evans
Hyde (or whichever back goes to TEN if not Hyde)
Benjamin
Bortles

That Josh Gordon suspension is great news. He's the most valuable keeper going into our 2014 draft, and I traded him straight up for Leveon Bell last season.

For the top 5 rookies in one-year leagues, it looks like its going to be:

Sankey
Watkins
Evans
Cooks/Benjamin
Benjamin/Cooks

That seems reasonable for dynasty leagues as well. I pick 1, 5, 6 in my dynasty league, and I think I'll probably go Sankey, Benjamin/Cooks, Ebron for the sake of diversity.
