I was initially going to try Canada, but though "no way is that quicker"....

Eventually got in 18. Going to try later today to beat 15 through the U.S. This is weirdly compelling.

Tried it briefly on my phone before I decided it would be much easier on a computer.

The hardest part is getting out of New York/NE PA at the beginning.

Agree. Going Canada to Detroit is smooth sailing (at least for me), would probably be better going Canada all the way, but my knowledge of Canada is pretty sad

The thread title says US cities, but the First post does not state a rule saying you have to stay in the US, only no using the CL homepage or google maps to cheat......so SHUT it!

Breaking into the field was extremely difficult. Unpaid internships and freelance work for nearly two years before I was able land a full time gig. I definitely enjoy up and going to work in the morning. I also don't mind working 80 hours a week.

I feel like I got through the midwest okay (generally stayed east to west), but you guys were able to make bigger leaps than I after you got to the west.

I made it from the Poconos to the Iowa in 5 clicks, but then had to go south to St. Louis, and then had to stay in Missouri. That killed me, too.

Yep. I'm the same way. I went to school for meteorology to begin with...and had to come home for family reason. I kick myself everyday, however, the IT + MBA landed me a really good job.

I have a Geography degree from PSU... graduated December of 1998 and didn't find a job in the field. Ended up in the mortgage business, and still here 15 years later.

There's a Bloomington in MN (where the Mall of America is, I saw Bloomington and thought "o sweet, Madison to basically MSP).. I guess Bloomington meant Indiana..

I was thinking, I wonder if Canada's the right way to go... Since the CL's might be more spread out. So I did a Canada, just to Detroit, and avoided my Bloomington confusion and got it in 13. Changed nothing else, almost same route and got it in 13 clicks. Interesting how 1 small change can knock off so much

I tried the opposite approach, going through Mexico from Texas. It was nice that I could take a large jump from TX, to Mexico City to Baja. That cut some mileage.
