You know that even if Pitt wins this game, it will come down to the last play.

Wow defense is awful but it's nice seeing the offense put up points.

Great work by Jamie Dixon to hold Duke and their offense to 55 points.

say what you will about that victory, but how many times has pitt lost games that are absolutley identical to this duke game? Pitt usually snatches defeat from the jaws of victory in this situations.

This win was probably the difference between a trip to the BBVA compass bowl and being left at home during bowl season for the super panthers

Good point KtK. I was sure they were going to blow this one late in the game/on the last play like they have so many times before. Nebraska, Navy '07, etc.

Pretty sure that if Duke got the ball back, they were going to win. Though in the past, Pitt would have never converted that 1st down to Spoon.

With guys like Conner and Boyd emerging, as well as the line looking real solid, things are looking bright for Pitt. Now they just need to recruit some guys that can contribute on D.

the pitt coaches actually had the guts to throw the ball on that third down to weatherspoon. the pitt players-both savage and weatherspoon, both had the talent to make a play on that third down. that kind of stuff never happens for pitt.

55 points to Duke...what's amazing is that Duke's offense gave up 4 turnovers and still scored that many points.

So were they ever stopped at all? Did every drive end with a score or a turnover?

You have a point... But the fact that beating Duke 58-55 is somehow acceptable because Pitt usually loses those games isn't exactly comforting.

Definitely is not comforting, but at least it's a step forward.

pitts history of losing close games to inferior teams and spectacular fashion isnt exactly comforting, either. but at least pitt managed to win the team for a change.

penn state just lost by 3 to UCF at home and gave up 500 yards of offense.

wvu just got shut out 37-0 by UMD.

not saying pitt is better or worse than wvu or UPS, but quite frankly its a lot more fun to win than lose.

those are two local recent scores.

I don't know if many people realize duke won 8 or 9 games last year. They aren't really pushover duke of old. However I was away golfing all weekend so I didn't see much, Savage looked good? That's good to hear. Perhaps he is shaking the rust off. You saw shades of a great arm the first two games, hopefully he is comfortable again.
