Is Pitt really that much more talented than Navy at this point?

At the skill positions they probably are by quite a bit. This team just frustrates me. I know they aren't the class of the ACC by any means, but they should be able to handle a team like Navy with relative ease.

I feel ya'lls pain tonight.

KState putt'n a hurt'n on WVU.

These are teams (Navy and KSU) that Pitt and WVU should beat with ease.

Well, that Navy game sucked. I'm heading down to GT to watch Pitt get killed.

I'm 2-11 on Pitt road trips I've gone to.

Eh, not sure Pitt and beating a team "with ease" computes.

i bummed with how few Pitt games are available on broadcast tv this year - especially the away games. I feel like Wanny era games were mostly all on WTAE if they weren't a national ESPN broadcast.

KSU is also a very good program, especially since the return of old man Snyder. Don't know how he does it.

It seems to more Pitt games are on this year than years past. Every game has been televised this year home and away. There were games last year that I had to watch online.

Yeah, every game has been on, at least on my provider.

It's the way the contracts are with the ACC. With the Big East, if you didn't get the BE game of the week on WTAE (they were sydicated on that station), you were SOL if it wasn't a ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU game.

With the ACC, they sell off games to Fox, and Raycom syndicates out as well. So you have a chance to be the ACC game of the week on WTAE, be on Root sports, or be on CBS sportsnetwork.

CBS Sports isn't widely available. There are a few that have been on Root which is kind of cool, but I thought more would be on WTAE locally with them pre-empting Nebraska vs Kentucky or whatever else is going on at the time. Or being shown on their digital sub station.

Granted, I don't live in PA, but there's been about 5 Pitt games available this year and I think they've all been on different channels.

CBS sports network has some sort of deal with Navy. That is why this game was on CBS Sports.

The "ACC Network" is kind of like how the radio operates "The Pittsburgh Steelers Football Network." It isn't a specific channel per se. They look to sign affiliates up. In Pittsburgh it is WTAE2 (This TV). Though I think all the Pitt ACC Network games have been on WTAE/ABC. The ACC has an agreement with ESPN, but I kinda sorta feel like that is basketball only.

I understand that. And yes, in Pgh, the affiliate that the ACC Network sydicates to for it's "Game of the week" is WTAE.

I don't know why you think there have been no games on ESPN. There have been plenty, they just haven't been Pitt. ESPN is paying the ACC an average of $20M per year, and 80% of that is related to Football.

I guess I'm just not paying close enough attention - I remember reading about the TV deal last year after Pitt and Syracuse had signed up and everything I remember reading pertained to basketball.

I just like WTAE broadcasts selfishly so I can use an antenna - higher quality and can watch out on the patio/at the tailgate.

They are also working on creating an actual ACC Network, it's own specific channel, with ESPN.
