In gridiron football, cut blocking is an offensive line technique that consists of an offensive player knocking a defensive player down by hitting his knees.[1] The technique, which was initially instilled by Bobb McKittrick, the offensive line coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 1979 to 1999,[2] is often criticized as being "dirty."[3] Additionally, it is illegal for an offensive player to "cut" a defensive player already engaged with another offensive player. This is considered a "chop block." In the NCAA, cut blocking is allowed as long as the block is no more than five yards away from the line of scrimmage and it is inside the tackle box.

Hilarious. A play considered "dirty" but the NFL is super serious about safety.

add another one to the season-ending injury list.

The hits keep coming for the Steelers.

Hours after Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he expects center Maurkice Pouncey and linebacker Larry Foote to miss the rest of the season with injuries suffered in today’s loss to Tennessee comes news that running back LaRod Stephens-Howling has also been lost for the season.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that Stephens-Howling suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the year.

The Steelers were hoping Stephens-Howling would be both their primary kickoff returner and a key part of their offense, and he was their leading rusher today against the Titans. But they won’t get any more out of him this year.

I have. Any team counting on LSH deserves their fate.

No way this team wins more than 4 games, especially with the season ending injuries imo.

Foote is replaceable.
This team is used to playing without Pouncey.
Who gives a crap about LSH.

The only TD drive the Titans had was after a turnover on a short field. Plus it was a series with Jarvis Jones sitting on the sideline. Jarvis' play was great and Worlids shouldn't sniff the starting lineup unless there is injury.

-Yeah, Foote is replaceable. Unfortunately, the Steelers currently don't have this player to replace him...
-Yeah, the team is used to playing without Pouncey. But not for a whole season and when they have a functional backup.
-Yeah, who gives a crap about LSH. But when you have no one better, then you sorta start to care.

Sorry... But the Steelers are screwed. Yeah, the players they lost aren't world beaters but the replacements for said players are worse. If they weren't, they would already be starting instead of the current players.

The only TD drive the Steelers has was late in the 4th quarter in garbage time. There is no positive spin on yesterday, it was a putrid performance.

I'm not so sure there are worse players behind Foote and LSH. Is Worlids better than Jarvis Jones?

Foote strikes me as one of those players that is given a roster spot because he's one of the guys.

With all of the talk about how overrated Pouncey was I'm surprised to see all the bridge jumping over him being out for the season.

What does money have to do with it? Isn't this all about needing another running back?

Wait, what? I don't think he's as good as the hype of him being the best center in the game, but he's been relatively reliable in terms of overall games played/games missed. Its just that hes missed the Super Bowl and the playoff game in Den (I think that was the other playoff game), so they've been high profile. He's been the best lineman on the team and one of the top 5 or so at his position since he's been in the league. Not sure how that makes him a "bust."

Convinced now Pouncey was to not engage with the Titan at the line otherwise the cut block was a penalty.
