Okay so had I not included the lol, it was a serious question. How can you fault a team for getting rid of declining players with big cap hits? They got rid of Keisel, Harrison, Wallace, Clark, Woodley.. Replaced with Heyward, Worilds, Jones, Sanders (meh). All younger, cheaper, mostly better options going forward.

So the Steelers have to sign FA guys this year. They can fill everything in the draft, but I'm intrigued.

If Troy is stating that when the steelers signed those last "big" contracts to players, they made a mistake... I agree. Previously, they were good at not paying for past performances, faneca, porter, etc. heck the only player I recall really ending his career in pgh after being a prominent member here under cowher was Bettis. There's been way, way, too many guys that have stayed here until absolutely no one else would take them.

That being said, the last 3 years or whatever it's been the steelers have done a great job trying to recover from mistakes awhile ago... Not sure if Troy is stating they made mistakes (correct)...Or tcriticizing the last 3 years (incorrect )

Or the Steelers sign nobody and convince the loyal fans they're still successful at drafting players.

He'd been a 3-4 guy. This year he played a 4-3 guy because the Cowboys decided to completely change their defense and he had a down year. Who knew?

He'll be 32 to start the summer Yeah I was joking because they just got rid of Woodley. I'm actually glad the Cowboys got rid of him. If he plays a full season, he's probably still a ~10 sack guy, but I don't think that can be counted on.

Mike Mitchell is solid against the run but has issues in pass defense. He likes to hit and has complained about Goodell in the past.

So, Ryan Clark out, Ryan Clark in? They must love this guy to give him a raise from 1 to $5 mil. after 1 decent season.

I liked him in Carolina but he was shielded by the front 7. Hate to see him go but not sad to see him go at that price.

I would take that signing as an indication that they're going to target the ND NT in the draft.

The past couple days have changed what I expect the Steelers to do in the draft. I was really pulling for a DB in the first round, but with four safeties and the top three CBs from last year returning, there's no way they go DB at this point. I'm pulling for a DT at this point, preferably Louis Nix III, but I have a feeling their preference is a WR, with help and depth at CB, DL, and LB coming in rounds 2-7.

As a side note, I remember when the Raiders drafted Mitchell and its nice to see him doing well in the NFL because Mel Kiper Jr. absolutely lost his mind when the pick was announced. Kiper rated him as something like the 70th safety in the draft, Mike Mayock had him pegged as a 7th round pick at best, but the Raiders took him in the second round because he ran a 4.4 40.

I guess one thing I overlooked.. There were rumors of Ike Swag moving to safety, but looks like that probably won't happen now. I love Swag, but I think we need another decent corner so he doesn't play every snap.
