I don't want to say anything incriminating with an insider here but I have a similar arrangement

Mrs Tif and I spent a long weekend in SEA a couple years ago, and we pretty much made up our minds then and there that if the time ever came to leave SoCal we'd be pretty stoked to end up there. Not a huge city, but all modern cultural amenities; pro sports; great food and wine scene; super excellent public transportation system; way cheap cost of living and housing (compared to L.A.); mild-ish climate with actual seasons; did I mention the quality of the seafood????

Yeah, I'd like it there.

This is what I like to hear. I've had countless people tell me about how great it is!

The only complaint I've ever heard about Seattle is the weather. Never gets too warm, always kinda dreary. But, that's Pittsburgh, so if you're used to and don't mind Pittsburgh weather, then you're fine. Everything else I've heard about Seattle is awesome.

If you're a smoker, you'll immediately quit. I was last there in 2010 and paid $12.99 a pack.

Yeah, everyone says it's comparable to Pittsburgh weather and it doesn't get too hot (which is awesome). It actually rains 3 more days out of the year in Pittsburgh than Seattle

That might be in terms of actual measurable precipitation...... but I don't think they have a tangible measure of 'general gloom'.
