This is pretty sweet (in a nature-appreciation sort of way). Multi-vortex tornado in South Dakota. Around the mid-way point of the video, you can see about 5 or more mini-vortices on the ground while the main funnel is still coming down.

Tornadoes and Hurricanes both fascinate the hell out of me. Would love to be a storm chaser just once.

I could drive. I'd probably get us all killed, but at least we'd enjoy the ride.

Actually went to school for Meteorology at Millersville U with the idea that I would chase tornadoes/hurricanes. That would be more entertaining than my current job.

Today was the first day in about a week and a half that the conditions warranted opening up the entire house for the day....how glorious.

Really persistent electrical storm happening here (NC). I'd reckon about 70-90 flashes a minute, not many ground strikes though. I could probably finish a newspaper article in a few minutes using the light generated from it.

Was in Milwaukee for the weekend. Unreal fog last night. Never saw nighttime fog roll in like that. Was right near the Lake. Pretty cool.

Man, nothing better than a classic heavy rain thunderstorm rolling through around this time. What a light show right now with torrential downpours

We've had the Bangladesh style rains for the last few nights, which probably means it won't rain for a few more weeks. I definitely miss those classic all day PGH style rains.

Pop up torrential rain/thunderstorm. Left my windows open this morning. You win this round, Weather.

Bonus, if the power goes out, I'm out of here. Though I think we've already switched over to generators.

lol, just checked the Wundermap. This storm is only about 4 miles wide but is just dumping water and some pretty impressive lightning strikes. It's a tiny red splotch on an otherwise clear day. Probably some pretty pissed off aviators out there today, the storm isn't much wider than the base.

Just had one of the worst windstorms I've ever seen. Not a ton of rain, very little lightning, but wind that was probably gusting to hurricane force. Limbs down everywhere, including one off our tree that landed in the street. Blew through here with fury about 30 minutes ago, and now the sun is out and we have a rainbow.

Struck me as a weaker derecho, but still nasty.

We wanted more of that storm than we got.

Also, my Dad's central air is out the week I'm visiting.

I hate this, I love in in April and October. It's July, I want heat, humidity and air conditioning. When I go outside to work out, I want to be sweating even before I get on my bike. Heat makes working out outside so much better
