No sidewalk salt anywhere in pittsburgh too. Some dude at giant eagle bought at least 20 boxes of iodized salt in front of me earlier this morning.

I was talking to a buddy of mine,one year older than me, about how few people under 50 knew the delights of growing up in a house with a coal furnace. One way of avoiding friction over how late you came home was making sure you went to the cellar and threw a shovel of coal in the furnace. Dad's always liked not having to go do that in the middle of the night.

I think this the first year maryland didnt run out in early january since ive lived here. Its the second year that ive lived here when there was any amount of real snow on the roads. Go figure.

That ice storm that blew through the South on Wednesday:
There's still 50,000 people in my parents' county in SC without power.

The hot water would run out pretty quickly for a family of four.
